Governor Andrew Cuomo Announces Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates for New York State

With increasing concerns of the Coronavirus spread in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo continues to make new announcements regarding the matter. One of his most recent announcements stated that all non-essential business and workplaces in New York are required to have 75% of their employees work from home. This is effective Friday, March 20 at 8 p.m. This is an increase from Cuomo’s previous direction that 50% of employees need to work from home.

The Governor also stated that banks are required to waive mortgage payments for the next 90 days for those who experience financial hardship during this time. In addition to this, he announced that ATM overdraft fees will be waived and evictions are to be halted for 90 days.
